You may hear the talk about Seasonic making the absolute best power supplies. It was me - I was there too. I bought two of these puppies - one for a slot machine and one for a home server pc. I had no issues and was really enjoying the product until one morning when I tried to turn on my gaming computer without success. After swapping out the spare PSU I had (not Seasonic, just for reference) the computer turned on with no problems. After a year and a half of faithful service, the PSU just died. It's okay, I thought, I'll just use the Seasonic power supply. It comes with a pretty fat 12 year guarantee! Not that fast – the RMA process isn't complicated, but it's not easy either. Additionally, Seasonic no longer offers an extended RMA, requiring you to return the power supply at YOUR EXPENSE. You don't pay for shipping to get the product to you. I paid for the power adapter to be shipped and waited patiently. Eventually a new power supply comes to my door and I plug it into my computer. It loaded with no issues, but after running the game for 30 minutes my computer just turned off and on again. The? I was able to reproduce this behavior several times. Not sure if the new PSU broke, I ran and bought a new 1000w PSU (not Seasonic) and hooked it up to the computer. Since then, my computer has not died. This is a strong indication that the PSU they sent me as a replacement isn't working as advertised, but what's the worst? Seasonal Support told me my only option is to RMA AGAIN and they don't pay to ship the defective PSU back! Wow! Now I have to spend more time and money just to get a working PSU? You are joking. So Seasonic won't bother me in the future. They might advertise a hefty 12-year warranty, but that's not going to be pretty. You will not make it easy for yourself. You have to pay for return shipping EVERY TIME and you CAN get a working replacement. Hard pass to the future, Seasonic.
