Haven't bought masking tape for a long time. I bought some because they were cheaper than the tape I used to buy for crafting. I needed a tape that would hold things in place for my purposes and still be clean without leaving a sticky residue. Most duct tape works well for this purpose, but I've been pleasantly surprised at how much the duct tape has improved since I last bought it. It sticks well and holds many materials in place - from paper, fabric and plastic to rubber and wood - and peels off cleanly. And it's a lot easier to tear than duct tape, so I'll be using that from now on!
