Review on πŸ”‹ CKIECK Portable Cordless Air Compressor Pump β…‘ with Rechargeable Li-ion Battery – Power-Packed Tire Inflator by Josh Allen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

First impression after first use - more updates!

I've had lots of these devices. This "decent", with some caveats. Today I used it for the first time to inflate tires; 3 out of 4 tires have very slow leaks that need topping up every few weeks. First, the instructions are not very good. If I didn't have several of these devices I might be a little confused as the instructions are not well written. There is practically NO useful information on how to charge the battery. There is an LED on the charger but it doesn't say what to expect. When you plug in the charger, the LED should be GREEN. If you connect the charger to a used battery, the LED will turn RED and remain red until the battery is charged, which can take many hours depending on depletion. When charging, the LED will turn GREEN again. None of this is mentioned in the instructions. There should be a light on the front of the battery that should be turned on with a yellow button. I haven't been able to turn on the light yet. The device's "Auto-Off" function leaves you hardly any time to switch from one bus to another. If you have to grab the valve cover and lift it up and then screw it back on, the unit will likely shut down before you can get to the next tire. The display is well lit and easy to read. Cycle through different modes and measurements is relatively easy. The accuracy is close. but not perfect. It seems that inflation is stopping just above the set level. For example, I set the setpoint at 35.5psi and it stopped at 36psi. not scary but what you need to know. If you switch between different "modes" (balls, bikes, motorbikes and/or cars) your setpoint will be changed and you will have to reset it. the battery level gauge on the display and I was a bit dismayed when after filling up the 1st tire it dropped to about 1/2 of a full charge. However, when I got to the next tire, it was back in position. I suspect this is because the battery gauge is based on voltage rather than capacity which is claimed to be 2500mAh. not as much. I doubt you'll be able to inflate 2 completely flat tires with a fully charged battery. They have a carport charger so you can charge something on the go in a pinch, but as mentioned the charging is VERY slow. use. I can't confirm durability. if it lasts a year or more with occasional use. I think I will. If I find it failing prematurely I will come back to edit my review. EDIT: After working fine for a while, the device stopped pumping today. If I don't have anything plugged in, the pump turns on. If I have anything >30psi the pump shuts off. I will try to test, the benefit turned out to be good. If I can't get it to work, it becomes a "doorstop". EDIT #2: The issue with no pumping was due to the device setting itself to a "stop" value of 20psi. Every time I tried to inflate anything over 20psi it didn't rock. After resetting the switch-off value, the pump runs again. If you have to fill all 4 tires (like I do - they all have a slow leak) the unit gets quite hot, especially the metal adapter that screws into the unit. There appears to be a NEW MODEL of this device that sells for less than this model and appears to fix some issues with this model. By the way, I was able to turn on the front light. You need to hold down the power button for a while. BAD INSTRUCTIONS were responsible for that again. Look for a newer version with a more robust build and battery.
