PERFECT HOLES for terracotta pots!

MUST BUY if you want to drill terracotta. I had to make some drainage holes in the terracotta pots. At first I was a bit concerned that the drill bits aren't the hex shape that drill bits usually are, so they better "hook" in the part you tighten to secure the drill bit (sorry I'm just a girl) . who knows how to use the tools but does not know the names of the parts). However, I could not tell any difference when drilling. The chisel was solid and didn't wobble at all. I've never drilled terracotta or used diamond chisels before, so I was a little nervous considering the pots I had were quite small (4 inches) and slightly thinner than a standard terracotta pot. I was sure they would break. NO! I enlisted the help of my 10 year old niece to pour water while drilling (*DO NOT forget this part if you are drilling ceramic or terracotta) and we managed to do it in under 5 minutes for 3 pots of about 30 seconds. Was there some kind of drill skip? Yes, but that's expected for any drill in this situation and it only slipped about 2% of the time (very early on when I wasn't holding the pot and wasn't drilling properly). I just had to hold the drill at a slight angle at first, not straight down. Slightly lower than the surface, I slowly moved the drill bit to a straight down position while I continued drilling. you don't have to put in a lot of effort and... My niece and I looked at each other and said "I thought it was definitely going to break!" at the same time. Instead WAH-LAH! PERFECT HOLE! **
