Review on πŸ”Œ Reconditioned Linksys Certified Cablevision CM3008 by Ronnie Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

High Speed Internet Access saves $120/year!

I bought a Linksys model CM3008 DOCSIS 3.0 8x4 cable modem to avoid the $10.00 monthly rental from Comcast/Xfinity to rent a cable modem from them. Comcast/Xfinity first told me that this cable modem was not compatible with their triple play package and tried to tell me that this cable modem was not compatible with VOIP, which is not true. This cable modem works well with Comcast/Xfinity's "Triple Play" service package as well as Vonage's VOIP phone service. However, if you are setting up this cable modem with the Comcast/Xfinity service, you must first bypass any network routers and connect the cable modem directly to your computer's Ethernet network port using a CAT5 or CAT5e Ethernet network cable. Then open a web browser as the Comcast/Xfinity service will automatically send a confirmation web page to your computer confirming the connection with the new cable modem device. All you have to do is click the "OK" button on the webpage. Failure to do this will result in your Internet access being blocked, unbeknownst to most Comcast/Xfinity technicians. After you complete this step, you can reconnect all routers to your cable modem. Another thing is to call Comcast/Xfinity and give them the MAC address of the new cable modem which is printed on the bottom of the cable modem as a record and make sure you ship the original cable modem back to your local Comcast. /Xfinity Store so they stop the $10 monthly rent on your bill. The Linksys model CM3008 cable modem is a winner in my opinion for its high data transfer speeds of up to 343 Mbps. Support for IPv4 and IPv6 (Internet Protocol Versions 4 and 6). Maximize data transfer speeds for your current Internet service plan with eight linked download channels and four download channels on the CM3008 modem. These multiple aggregated channels allow you to streamline your media streaming and file transfer with the CM3008 by simultaneously transferring large amounts of data across multiple channels. The result is more efficient and effective use of the existing cable broadband connection. In addition, the CM3008 features a slim and compact design that allows you to place your cable modem next to your router without cluttering up your surface. Owning your own modem allows you to eliminate rent from your service provider. Certified to work with Internet service plans from major cable providers such as Comcast Xfinity, Time Warner, Cox and Charter, the Linksys CM3008 cable modem saves up to $120 per year on modem rentals. I recommend the Linksys model CM3008 cable. Modem for anyone with Comcast/Xfinity, Time Warner, Cox, or Charter customers with bundled "Double-Play" or "Triple-Play" plans who pay an additional $10 per month for cable modem rental.
