I purchased this item to replace a worn out blinds motor on a 1979 VW camper. The first one I ordered was defective: the internal gear had frozen and by gently rocking back and forth to loosen it tore off the gears. Replacing the exact same item wasn't much better. It was also frozen, but I was able to open it by twisting it back and forth very gently. It ended up being better than the old worn out drive I was replacing, so I installed it. This has been working fine for a few weeks now. I'll update this review if it doesn't give a premature idea of how long it took. and he didn't suffer from Frozen Gear Syndrome. It worked right out of the box as I expected the new drive to work. Note: The product image for this window drive shows the shaft exiting at the side in grey. The shaft in the photo is much longer than the real product. This product is actually a mirror image of the R7021 mentioned above (see the R7021 page for more detailed photos).
