As a kitchen gadget lover I have to say I am very impressed with this particular item. Most kitchen items are USED and abused in my home, so I try to buy the most durable items. I was very impressed with this item. The biggest issue with my previous screen was its depth. I poured out a pound of paste and about a third of it went into my sink. This sieve is not only very wide, but also deep. I'm guessing it takes about four pounds of pasta without overflowing! It's surprisingly heavy (not a problem for me) and so far has been easy to use and clean. If you're looking for something that's likely to last longer than most other kitchen essentials, this colander will definitely help you out. I would give this 10 stars if I could!
