Why is this stove sold with glass that is dangerous for aquatic animals? Because it is harmless to aquatic life and it is a heating element where open glass becomes very dangerous. hot to heat the aquarium. Also, the manual recommends a vertical or horizontal position. I set the water temperature to 27 degrees, which is what the dwarf frog needs. He was fine for two weeks until unfortunately my healthy 4 month old Hopper Frog burned his stomach after touching heated glass that had been submerged in water and died within seconds of this. This product effectively heated the aquarium for two weeks. I have used it but since there is nothing to prevent the animals from touching heated glass they will suffer and burn unless a net or plastic wrap is placed around the glass to prevent them from touching it. The product works but it is dangerous and I would never recommend it without some sort of protective case which is not included. Three small clips only hold it with suction cups and offer no protection. Even a fish can get burned by touching this heated glass. Who designed this and approved it to be "safe"? I should never have trusted this product.
