It's fine if you're ok with temperature fluctuations (5 degrees Fahrenheit).

Many people like to keep their aquariums within a fairly narrow temperature range, although fish can tolerate fluctuations. Perhaps it's better for the life of the heater if the temperature can fluctuate within an acceptable range, so the heater doesn't have to be cycled on and off as often to stay at that magic number. This might have been an intentional design aspect of this heater as it isn't the best device in the first place. However, 8 months later the heater is working just as well as it

This 50w heater met my needs perfectly. It works great with my 6.5 gallon aquarium. Easy to set up. The 3 suction cups included are of high quality and appear to be durable. The power cord is longer than the heater I replaced it with. The block itself is of normal size for such heaters. As with several other reviewers, my tank heater consistently runs about 4 degrees warmer than set. Quality heating! â Heaters and coolers for aquariums

The heater works! I have 50 watts in a 5 gallon tank and it's ok. I have used FOUR other heaters on my betta fish that had trauma and really needed a warm, comfortable and stress free aquarium environment. I'm new to aquariums and never realized how difficult this hobby can be!
