This product did the job. I used a scissors tool to quickly and easily separate the tie rod ends. However, when I used the same ball joint tool, it was really difficult. As the pressure increased, the threaded rod began to seize. I lubricated it, then the whole mechanism started to turn slightly, worrying that the threaded rod would slip off the lever. So I cut out a small retainer in the lever to keep the threaded rod centered on the lever. Eventually, the ball joint came loose, so the tool did its job, but not without drama.
