Protects my exuberant 10 lb kitten pretty well. It's a little longer than advertised at the shoulders, but it was the perfect training harness. The first time I put it on indoors he didn't understand anything and started struggling with the seat belts which I had intentionally left quite loose and he was able to wriggle out of the belt on his stomach. However, I pulled it on as tightly as I could without choking him (because it's too long, the harness pulls a bit on the collar if he tries to sniff the ground while standing, or the connecting strap slips sideways). his shoulder blades) and he showed no sign of hunching again. He seems to be doing very well outdoors, so I'm going to "step up" to a fully adjustable harness with a second connecting strap between the collar and chest strap and a longer, stowable leash. I just didn't want to get invested in all of this if he really hated going out or couldn't behave; It was the perfect balance of cheap but still adequate.
