That's an alligator. for Wrenches

So I've been looking for a universal socket for a long time. Not because I wanted to buy it, but because I wanted to design it. I've seen three (including my own). The first was Gator. They're great for VERY light work with small sizes and as you get bigger you can increase the load (also specific sizes that match the pin diameter. I can't remember what it is, but there's a nice spot where the Gator actually fits perfectly, but that's only medium and tall size). Then there's this guy, who I honestly think is better than Gator for a number of reasons. Last but not least is the amount of torque this thing can handle. Again, it has a limited size range, but because it uses flat steel walls (I've found rust and won't complain about it because I'm a machinist, I know a little rust doesn't matter much) to secure the nut. After some fine tuning (d-grat.) I filed and polished some work surfaces, and added a notch for the bracket (there aren't any more). yes, i disassembled it. new springs: I recommend keeping them lubricated/cleaned and setting them close to the maximum settings to relieve the springs.: I'm guessing the springs are off the shelf and not made to spec, if that makes sense to anyone) . Everything he said. I've been able to stress this quite heavily and it hasn't failed yet. Since I only received these tonight, I'm planning to grab a torque wrench and see how far I can go with it. But so far it's been perfect for some work on my bike and with a few other tools I have everything I need to get the job done on my bike. and it all comes in a pencil case). So thanks to an unknown designer and manufacturer. This is an interesting little tool and I would highly recommend it to anyone who needs multiple sockets in a small package. Currently. I've read that others think it's big (too big). and it's quite big. but it will do what the alligator won't do, and so on. I just have both.

Pros
  • Universal Socket Set: Maintains equal force on all sides of fastener versus rounded corners. strong enough to take the shape of most objects.
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
