Review on meross Smart Garage Door Opener: Apple 🚪 HomeKit, Alexa, Google Assistant Compatible, No Hub Required by Steven Stager

Installation was pretty easy, but it doesn't seem to work properly when paired with Apple HomeKit. When opening the HomeKit app, my garage icon always shows that my garage is on the way to the open position, even if it's not physically moving. When I touch the icon, it returns to its default position, indicating that it's closed. Everything is fine from the Meross app. The display and controls work as expected with prompts indicating the door is easily opened or closed by the Meross app. I have tried to contact Meross for customer service but have not received anything. I have tried contacting several emails they have posted on the web, facebook and facebook messenger and contacted the reply to the purchase email they sent and I have not received any assistance. I'm giving it one star because it seems like Meross doesn't want to support the product and refuses to help the customer with any kind of support. UPDATE: September 24th, 2020 I finally got support for an issue I had a few days later. It turned out to be a firmware issue with Apple HomeKit compatibility. As soon as Meross support finally contacted me they wrote that this is a known issue and that they have a firmware update that they will be sending to my account to fix the issue. I upped the rating from one star to three because Meross fixed the issue, but not higher because they knew the issue existed and it wasn't discussed in any community help forums, and they don't update to existing users with an acquaintance passed on problems and support. didn't respond until I escalated the issue. As for the product, apart from the firmware issue, I still maintain that this is a great product. I love that there are notifications when the door opens or closes and you can also set timers to automatically close or open the door.
