I use this device to weigh my truck and trailer fully loaded. I first test weighed my empty truck and found that it would vary by about 300 pounds from one measurement to the next. I then went through the calibration steps and found it was in the range of about 100 pounds. Before purchasing this unit, I weighed every item I loaded onto a trailer and truck using a standard floor scale. I recorded these weights in a spreadsheet and created a column that allowed me to add or subtract one item from the truck or trailer to offset the weight of each load. I used the published tongue weight which included batteries and propane. I checked the trailer weight at the hitch using Betterweigh and it was within the factory specifications for the trailer. Now I use Betterweigh to check the weight of the whole installation after download. It's not the same as weighing, but I'm sure it's accurate enough for safe towing.
