. I bought this to replace my factory catalytic converter which failed in a 2006 Prius and gave error p0420. First I tried cleaning the intake, replacing the MAF and replacing the O2 sensor. Nothing helped to clean up the code. When my son had a cat stolen from his Prius, I got a $350 replacement and it worked. But I was looking for a cheaper option. So I rolled the dice in this one. But before I could install it, my factory cat was stolen. They cut off the factory tube just before the resonator. This seems to be the default location for thieves to cut open a factory cat to steal (see image). It matched the length of this replacement cat tube perfectly. Installation was easy. Slide the rear end of this tube over the cut off factory tube. I only had to file out a few rough spots on the factory pipe because the thieves saw that there were still a few burrs left that the new pipe wouldn't ride over. Fix the tube from the front with two springs and screws. Then clamp the rear end with a pipe clamp. I also ordered a new O2 sensor as the thieves took the old one with the factory cat. After this replacement I have driven the car for several hundred miles and no longer get p0420 errors. Fingers crossed it continues to function normally.
