Decent camps for spinners

In general, very worthy camps for spinners. Unsurprisingly, affordability alone makes these bearings a competitive product, and after a thorough cleaning they performed well and ran a decent time. simply good. If you put them up for sale... I'd probably pay a little more for a higher quality bearing. I'm not sure why I liked the "single lip contact seals" on these bearings so much, but they were very easy to remove for cleaning. and better yet, it was easy to reattach the bearing. Just don't pry them where "608RS" is stamped as they are thinner there and more likely to break in that area. All in all I would say that you get a good bearing for the price. Didn't like (which cost 4/5 stars instead of 5/5) was the grease they used inside the bearing. Not sure if they used silicone or something, but when I got the bearings they were stiff and sticky and wouldn't turn. I'm used to other bearings being filled with grease. It wasn't here. These bearings were difficult to turn and almost unusable straight out of the box. These bearings were not clogged with grease (like many bearings) and when I took them apart to clean I saw no grease at all. As I mentioned, they felt sticky rather than smooth or slippery, and I had a hard time even turning them. I figured I'd just soak them in 100% pure acetone as that's usually enough to remove grease from bearings I've worked with before. Unfortunately, after soaking in pure acetone for more than 24 hours (shaking the container occasionally) they were still chewy and sticky! I almost didn't believe it. I soaked them for another 24 hours and they were still sticky! I ended up having to use carburetor cleaner and then engine degreaser to cut through anything making them sticky. I was a little shocked at how stretchy this sticky substance was. After I finally managed to get the gunk off the bearings, they smelled pretty bad (smells like engine degreaser). So I soaked them in 100% acetone again for a few days, took them out, sprayed them with compressed air, spun them around, and then let them dry. They still smelled a bit so I soaked them again in a clean container with fresh clean acetone and that seemed to help. I guess it's a lot of work. But once cleaned the bearings fit perfectly, rotated well and helped make some pretty good custom spinners. If you don't want to thoroughly clean your bearings when you receive them, you may not like this particular product. If you're willing to spend some time cleaning and applying your own LUBRICANT to get the bearing cleaned and spinning properly then you probably can't go wrong for the price.
