Review on Acoustic Audio PSW300 8 Theater Subwoofer by Veronica Phillips

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Impressed with the cost

I bought this from Revain at a lower price and noticed absolutely no issues with the looks. I built a budget 5.1 solution for the living room of a small apartment. Highly recommended is the Micca RB42x series (also refurbished). I was looking for subwoofer solutions for less than $150. After reading many positive reviews about theater subwoofers, I started looking at 10- to 15-inch options. I have no doubt that speakers and cinema solutions are the same parent company just using different logos on the packaging. After researching both companies' options for Revain's stock deals, I settled on a 10-inch front-facing player with acoustic sound because that's what happened. I appreciate the input options and the ability to daisy chain if you want to extend the line. The subwoofer turns on and off with the receiver, if you actually set the power switch to the middle "Auto" position, I'm having trouble understanding that. Personally I would buy a new RCAS set or at least a splitter if you must use one as this item seems pretty cheap and can cause hum problems if not perfectly aligned. The pin end that goes into the receiver is relatively loose, but if you're using speaker wire or LFE connectors, that's not a problem. This element fills the lower to middle area if you only have small bookshelves in the front. If you have towers with 6.5″ or larger woofers, you can upgrade to 12″ or 15″ woofers to fill out the low frequencies a little better. low frequencies by setting it to 10 inches for a higher crossover frequency to help fade in the mid-bass and setting it to 15 inches for below 45 Hz. This setup offers more flexibility and less range than a single taller subwoofer. Having a place I will always recommend several budget subwoofers rather than a more expensive subwoofer. Overall, I'm not mad at all about this purchase.
