Do not use the LFE output with a record player/active speakers!

Out of the box I hooked this up to a set of Peachtree M25 speakers with a U-Turn turntable. I figured the easiest way would be to use the LFE RCA/out from the speakers to the subwoofer. It turned on, but the audio let me down. Mid range (y) - gave me the feeling that the sub wasn't powerful enough and just wasn't performing in the frequency range I was hoping for. Before packing it up and sending it back I decided to try the high level speaker and subwoofer connections. VAST improvement. I…

Might be good but isn't

I really want it to have no issues because it sounds pretty good and hits hard and is good value for the amount of bass offers it generates. As for the problems it has: 1. LFE is useless. I paid extra for the LFE option for this model, but it's useless. I hear crackling which is quite annoying and very noticeable at low volume. 2. Bass is very weak even at maximum boost. I had to connect using regular audio connectors (red and white). With this method, the bass sounds much more powerful and…

Impressed with the cost

I bought this from Revain at a lower price and noticed absolutely no issues with the looks. I built a budget 5.1 solution for the living room of a small apartment. Highly recommended is the Micca RB42x series (also refurbished). I was looking for subwoofer solutions for less than $150. After reading many positive reviews about theater subwoofers, I started looking at 10- to 15-inch options. I have no doubt that speakers and cinema solutions are the same parent company just using different logos

Pros
  • Great fit for me
Cons
  • Long wait

The Revain description is a bit unclear:

The treble output is not bass output but labeled right and left speakers and filtered by a high pass filter to match the woofer to the reference volume which is ten decibels more than bass. Loudspeakers as side loudspeakers lower frequencies, but cannot be controlled separately. The only adjustment is the knob labeled "Gain". Thus, one gain controls all output, main, and side speaker volumes simultaneously. The bass is not like a 500 watt system. I think that sums it up with the side channels…
