Review on Enhanced Cooling Performance: Standard Motor Products TX98T Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor by Michael Luna

Damaged/failed at coolant temperature

The plastic part of the connector rotates. This should have been my first clue that it was junk or that it had been damaged in any way. After installation I started the car but it wouldn't start. I received the ECT check engine code immediately. The van's side connector has more rails than the connector on the sensor, but it lines up and snaps securely into place. With the engine off, the display on my OBDII scanner showed -40 and then the ambient temp (about 89) after playing around with the connector a bit. I can't trust him. My old sensor wasn't bad, I just acted ahead of it. I cleaned the old sensor, put it back in and we were good to go again. It was such a cheap and easy part that I decided I couldn't be wrong. I'll stop by the local parts store and hope for better results.
