Review on 🐾 High-Quality Guardian Gear Chrome Plated Steel Prong Dog Collar for Effective Training and Control by Sharon Mitchell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

I wish I had one with a quick release

Whether this training and control collar works or not I have 2 beefs with it. Links on mine are very difficult to pinch to remove and replace. This is the only way to put this collar on and off if you are the right size. Some of them are made with a quick disconnect - this isn't as advertised, so no points are lost for this, but there must be a way to grab the links more easily. I saw a video on how to do it and it doesn't look that difficult. Maybe I'm weak but when it's not on the dog it's not that bad but trying to squeeze 2 prongs together, line them up with the holes on the horny dog, trying not to pull it harder is painful for my fingers ! Yes, I've tried the trick where you stick one pin in a hole and then just squeeze to insert the other, but I still think it's more complicated than it should be. What's more annoying is that you can't leave the rubber tips on the link you use to open the collar. You can put them back on after you have put the collar on the dog, but it will be very difficult and you will then have to take them off before you can open the collar. This leaves a limb that can't have rubber straps - maybe not a big deal, but annoying! Other than that, it's a solid collar, that's it. I wish I had one with a quick release buckle and maybe there will be one soon.
