My dryer works again!
I honestly am not 100% sure what was wrong with our dryer. The dryer was very hot even on the low setting. Then the thermocoupler went out twice in a few months time. I decided to buy this kit for our Maytag dryer and just replace everything. My suspicion is the problem was one of the thermostats but figured since I had it all apart I might as well replace it all. Our dryer now works perfectly and we are actually able to select the heat. It took about 30 minutes to do the job and that included some vent cleaning time.
- After removing back cover, only took 20 minutes to install. The dryer runs and heats like new.
