These were the best gloves ever! Except that both gloves tore at the thumb at the same time. They were only 3 months old. That tells me either a bad product or a marriage. They would get 5 stars but for the price I paid I expected a decent living. I'm waiting to see how Ringside decides to deal with it. To be honest if they can prove it's a bad batch I'll change that to a 4 or 5. Update: I called the seller and they were happy to replace it with another set and they got it quick did. I've been using them for 30 days to check my skin. So far, so good. If they can cross the 6 month mark I will upgrade my rating to 5 stars. But for now I'll leave it at level three. Update #2: I'm officially revoking my 5-star rating. I received a replacement set 10/1. It's only now December 18th and the gloves are starting to tear again. I know my old Contenders withstood my insults (sweat) and lasted a year and a half. So I'm pretty sure it's just poor quality leather that doesn't react well with sodium. FYI: Sodium makes skin brittle. Thin, brittle skin is torn at the seams under the pressure of blows. It's a real shame because these gloves were amazing bag gloves for hard hitting.
