I have used this as a playpen for baby rats. Keep them at bay with only one way out. Instead of balls, I put boxes and tubes for the rats to hide and play in. To this end, they worked perfectly until they discovered that lattice windows could not withstand the teeth of rodents. In the end they went out on their own and the playpen was removed. The floor kept all the mess inside, be it feces or chewed cardboard. It would be a hassle to take out balls (or boxes in my case) and put this thing back in after each use. Most likely it will just last some time in the corner of the room while being used. It's very light so it's easy to move around even if left full. I can't tell how it can be used on real human babies, but it's great for rodent babies.
