This helped eliminate cable clutter and was able to add additional USB ports for a microphone, RGB mouse pad, webcam, and 512GB USB 3.0 fingerprint, eliminating one of the Thunderbolt 3 ports on my Laptop has been converted into 4 USB ports. ! This is such a great product and I'm so glad I got it. I had to do a lot of research for my specific use as I am buying a Razer Tomahawk Gaming Desktop to work with my content creation hobby set up for my YouTube channel and regular job and unfortunately this tower only has 4 USB 3.2 ports and 2 Thunderbolt 3 ports, I needed a total of 10 USB ports of which the Tower has 4, and the Raptor 27 has 2 USB ports that also connect to those USB ports from the Thunderbolt 3 output, so I need 4 more so all my devices can sync to the tower as everything on my desk is tagged by Razer with their RGB Chroma lighting that needs to be controlled with their Synapses software so I temporarily have my Windows 7 -Tried laptop with a Thunderbolt 3 Type-C port and it worked 100% with it even though it says USB Type-C. So for now I highly recommend it. I installed it under my E-Win Racing RGB 2.0 gaming table and fiddled with the cable routing a bit and it worked for me. USB Type-C output for 4 or 5 additional USB 3.0 ports. All Razer products I use only require USB 2.0 except for the base V2 stand which has a built in DAC so it needs to be plugged directly into the tower as it requires a USB 3.1 or higher connection .
