I recently started working from home and was missing my two screens at the office. So I bought another monitor but was concerned none of the ports looked like my MacBook. I did some research and found out that the Thunderbolt port can be used for an HDMI connection. I wanted to buy both an HDMI cable and a converter, but then I found this handy universal cable. The display looks great on my Viewsonic monitor. All you have to do is go into your MacBook's System Preferences and click Display to tell you if there's an additional monitor on the left or right and whether you want to extend or mirror, and you're done! I often turn it off to put my laptop to bed for fun. When I reconnect I don't have to do the system settings again, it remembers. The price of this cable is very reasonable and it looks and feels high quality. It was a great find. My MacBook is an Air model purchased in January 2019 for reference. Buy with confidence. Thumbs up!
