With a child in the house we had to put aside the beautiful slates that might break because she started throwing them. We bought cork because they don't break. But she started biting off pieces of cork! Yes. You are perfect. They absorb moisture to protect my coffee table, but a one-year-old can drop them and get bitten and I don't have to worry. In addition, they look very beautiful.
