Great little dressing table! (updated with reservations)

I still love this vanity but after a year and three months I wanted to update my previously brilliant review with what I've learned and also a star for the little effort deduct what was done to me by this little beauty. I'm a grown 36 year old adult who just wanted to grab a tiny corner of our shared closet to tidy up in the morning. Well, this bedroom closet isn't a walk-in closet at all β€” it's very shallow and accessed through two floor-to-ceiling mirrored sliding doors β€” and this dressing table *definitely* fits in. It's actually pretty amazing. The vanity has a hinged lid with a mirror in it, which is exactly what I wanted at the time. At one point, another Revain reviewer commented that the mirror was NOT USABLE, which is true - it's too far away and I'm too short-sighted without glasses for the mirror to really help me. So keep in mind that if you're as short-sighted as I am, you'll also want a pop-up, telescopic, or some sort of flexible neck mirror. Well, because there are no outlets in my dark corner of the closet. , my awesome husband gifted me a trendy Glamcor Riki Skinny Rechargeable Mirror with Lights - and it's the same width (9.5 inches) as the right "section" of the vanity! Wow, what luck! Being right-handed, the mirror is usually on the left side of the table and completely blocks access to my lipstick collection. I can't win! I use the smaller fold-out compartment for frequently used nail polishes, the right-most drawer for powder, and the main storage space for my rather large lipstick collection (I'm hesitant to admit it publicly, but otherwise my makeup stays in a tall, narrow drawer from IKEA, the one on the right next to my desk (though for most minimalists, a dressing table should provide more than enough storage space.) Immediately after purchasing this dressing table, I bought a Hudson Mid-Century faux fur ottoman at the recommendation of another buyer. The tapered legs of this mid-century Art Nouveau birch stool match the wooden vanity legs almost exactly (shape, colour, etc.) and the stool itself slides perfectly under the vanity completely, as if they were made for each other. The cabinet is a little lower than a regular countertop, but the ottoman I recommend is also pretty short at 16 inches! They could maybe go a bit higher, but not by much. NOW THE BAD NEWS (and this is the part I'll add to my previous review): Yes, the corner of the vanity turned out to be broken off in transit! I didn't notice him at first, but when I did I couldn't take my eyes off him. In the end I bought Soto - this is a brand "Soto" - tint with paint. Basically it's wite-out for shabby furniture and walls. If your vanity is also chipped or scuffed, you'll want color #7, Plains White, in a matte finish. This is a perfect match; it's a pleasure. Another issue is that the handles - particularly the handle on a working drawer in the lower right - fall off. A lot of. The attached screw is too short! You can turn the handle back on *for a while*, but the threads inside the handle will eventually wear out too. So I found some great 19mm drawer knobs in gold ("RZDEAL 4 pcs, 19mm diameter, solid brass round knobs, antique cabinet drawer, small handles, modern minimalistic handles”), and the parts provided fit perfectly. So get some new 19mm pins and spin them right away. I really LOVE the new shades on mine: they really reinforce the "white, gold, and pink” theme that excites my vanity. (I'll update the photos at some point - this was all a work in progress, but I think I'm almost done.) Finally, the good: - thumbnail path; fits in a small closet; spacious storage space for its size; really very durable and well designed; great for kids but stylish enough for adults. The Bad: - Short (get a 16" tall stool) - Far mirror (get a desk mirror) - Chipped (buy Soto paint, touch up [inside] Size: 1 fl oz, Gloss: Matte, Color: # 07 White Plains) - Inadequate hardware (replaced with 19mm drawer handles) So, I'll admit there were some, shall we say, 'hidden costs' associated with the purchase of this vanity, I still think it's a was a great purchase; however, be aware that you may encounter some of the same issues.I absolutely adore the vanity itself, mostly for its form factor and small footprint, so I would highly recommend it to anyone who values space!if I show off my vanity because it's so small and charming and tucked into such a small space I still recommend it, still love it, a year and three months later.
