Much better than the standard water pillow

This BestAir pillow solved the problem that was making me a dissatisfied Aprilaire user. walk in hot water. With this seal, there is a much greater transfer of moisture to the supply air. Now most of the hot water doesn't go down the drain, but out into the air (where I want it to go). I won't even buy a standard water pillow anymore. This version from BestAir is the only one I will buy. If someone gave me a stack of standard pods, I'd throw them out and still buy this one. Savings on hot water costs would justify this. With BestAir I get the extra comfort I really need. I have noticed a significant increase in productivity with the help of moisture meters. Of course, the numbers change depending on the required heating capacity. But here's an example of a kind of parallel test I did in 2010. The outside temperature was consistently close to zero for several days (I expected it according to the forecast, so I decided to do some testing). I have a Trane heat pump. a system with a variable speed fan to provide constant (but minimal) airflow when the heating or air conditioning is not running. That constant flow means my Aprilaire is always running too (I removed the original Aprilaire controls, which essentially render the system pointless, and installed my own system, and yes, I'm an engineer with considerable control experience). With a standard seal, the moisture has decreased. up to 37%. This is well below the recommended minimum. Even warming up the oven in the morning, which offers the best hydration with this system, couldn't get him much past 40. I switched to BestAir before bed and reached 38% humidity. I got up just before the oven came on and the humidity was 41%. After the first warm-up, the humidity was 45%. With the usual low demand, it fell to 42%. I then reversed the situation by installing a stock washer and the previous condition was restored. I already knew how the standard last worked from previous, preliminary tests over the past few years. And here's what I got by going back to it. Then I changed direction again and got better results with BestAir again. Even within a few days, these results were stable. Then it got warmer outside and the humidity reached 47%. I put the old pad back in and the humidity slowly dropped to 39%. Replaced the seals and it went back up. I use supplemental humidifiers to increase humidity to 48-52% (50% recommended) but can stay above the low H danger zone with Aprilaire alone, but only with this BestAir pad installed. If you have an Aprilaire system, you should only use this BestAir pad.
