Revainrating 3 out of 5

not bad for the price, but not great

I've used, conservatively, over 80,000 grinding wheels over the last 50 years. Most of them repaired and painted cars, boats and airplanes, but many also built canoes as a hobby. I've probably used most if not all of the major brands. Some are good, some are excellent and some are not so good. I usually buy Gater 5" discs for canoe use as they are inexpensive and readily available in packs of 50. 3/4 price. They work. But they wear out much quicker so I think the cost of the Gator disc is lower considering how long it lasts compared to these. But for comparison, I completely sanded the outside of a 16-inch cypress canoe with a 3M 36-grit disc on an 8-inch air sander. One disc made the entire outside area and probably at least 2 other canoes. I then sanded one side with a 5" Gator wheel with 80 grit. One wheel finished the side, but it was worn out and I probably should have put another wheel in by the time about 2/3 was done with that side. Then I sanded the other side with this LotFancy wheel I used 5 pads of 80 grit to sand the same total area as I would with 1 Gator pad.
