If you bought your own wax (I recommend Soywax 464) you can at least make candles with this kit. I don't know why this set is called "Christmas" as it implies that it contains at least some holiday flavors, but that's not the case. So I recommend buying the scents you prefer (either essential oils or fragrance oils). A nice touch is to get some color, just search for candle color on Amazon. If you then buy the wax, fragrance and paint yourself, you can use this kit to make a real candle. Below I will detail each accessory they provide: Pitcher: A good size. For reference, take a look at the attached glasses. You basically need to fill the jar to the brim with wax so you have enough liquid wax to fit each of the jars. It's not the thickest metal, but it should hold up over time. Wick Holder: This is a nice standard wick holder and keeps it well centered. Wicks: These give you a large number of long and short wicks. You only need the short ones for this kit, but the long ones will come in handy for other projects if you decide to take up this hobby. will not float in the glass and render your candle useless. These sticky pads are great for holding the wick securely and also easy to separate the pad from the sticky part. Wick straightener: I've never used this as it's of little use, but it smoothes. from the burned wick to facilitate re-ignition. Metal Stirrer: I love this stirrer. I've used a wooden spoon before, but this works much better. Important for candle makers. Warning Labels/Small Stickers: Warning labels are good to have, especially if you plan on selling/giving them away. The brown oval sticker is small so there isn't much you can do with it. All in all, the "Christmas" part is misleading, but overall this set offers some good candle making items. However, it would be much better if it contained enough wax and fragrance to make candles.
