They really hold up!
Alligator clips are not rocket science. They are simple: they are pinched. And boy do that clamp! Very robust, with solder hole and crimp lug for easy wiring. good value I've used these to make a jumper wire to supply 110VAC from a 220VAC capacitor junction box, but they will work in almost any application that requires an insulated connection of this size.
