The supplier was very helpful. They suggested that I cut slits at each end of the corner cover as they fit very snugly against the metal legs. I used a vise to crimp the bottom end of each leg and then a hammer to tap each cap. After that I attached a self-adhesive furniture pad so that it can slide on the parquet floor.
