Another non-standard use is flashlight tripod leg bumper legs

This is for kitchen table jewelers. Tripods sold for soldering jewelry always seem to come with brass or steel rod legs cut perpendicular to the length so the ends are sharp. Not that you want to slide across the kitchen table. If you have the tools and time to sand them smooth, great, but if not, these thread savers are what you need: they fit snugly on the ends of the rods, won't come loose, and they're soft. just enough so they don't leave a mark on your desk. And if you unscrew the tripod legs each time you're done using it, it's very easy to figure out which end to screw back into the ring the next time you need the tripod.

Pros
  • Tape screws
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
