Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Delphi AS10017 Ignition Knock Sensor - Optimize Engine Performance with Advanced Technology by Ronny Prather

Revainrating 1 out of 5

2003 Chevy Tahoe 5.3 Flex with 180,000 miles.

I ordered these for my Tahoe because my check engine light came on and I was getting a code P0327 (Knock Sensor 1 Circuit Low Input Bank 1). I did a little research on this code and found that this is a common problem on GM engines and that I need to replace the knock sensors. So I ordered 2 of these sensors, a wiring harness for them and several new FEL-PRO intake manifold gaskets. When all the parts arrived I started searching my truck and found that the front knock sensor (row 1) was completely submerged and badly rusted. After vacuuming up the water and cleaning debris out of the holes, I installed new sensors, wiring harness and intake manifold gaskets. My truck seemed to run fine for about 1.5 days before it got another check engine light code P0332 (knock/vibration sensor 2 circuit low bank 2). Frustrated (because it took me about 6 hours to remove the manifold the first time around) I removed the intake manifold again and decided to experiment with new sensors. I switched two sensors (bank 2 sensor to bank 1 and vice versa) and after clearing the code and driving for a few hours I got my original P0327 code back. Tired of doing the same job twice, I coughed up the money and went to a dealership where I bought knock sensors and a new wiring harness. The parts from the dealer were about $260 and I paid about $160 for the knock sensors, wiring harness and intake manifold gaskets. Revain was great and refunded me for the knock sensors and seat belt after they received the returned items and I learned a valuable lesson. If you do repairs yourself and know it can be time consuming, save yourself the headache and BUY OEM PARTS! Don't risk fakes. So far the OEM parts are working as they should, but it's only been about 2 days.
