Review on 🔗 11-speed Steel Connex Link by James Townsend

I drove mine about 2000 miles before finally taking it off. When using a KMC chain (originally there was no quick release) and Shimano 6800 and r8000 cassettes, the power was always skipped to the 11 tooth gear back then. Neither I nor any mechanic could fix it. This happened with two different switches (6800 and r8000). This only happened when pedaling in gear 11T. It only started when I installed the Wipperman quicklink. So I went back to the Ultegra CN-HG701 chain and it definitely (recently?) contains a fast link. Shimano chain and quick link don't slip under load on the 11T gears. The great thing about this Wippermann is that he could remove the chain for cleaning without special pliers. I think it's a good product but it just doesn't work with a Shimano 11T gearing. It might not be such a big deal for some people. It was driving me insane that I didn't actually have all my gear. I'm much happier just using a regular quick coupler and Park Tool pliers and having all my gear.
