I bought these to make custom closet shelves. At first I thought it was too big because my measurements from the floor didn't match. What I found was that the floor was 3/8" from one end of the cabinet to the other (tested with a spirit level). With that obstacle behind me, leveling the shelf supports was a breeze. I had 1x2 supports on three sides of each Support shelf (best seen on the top left shelf in the picture).I was able to hit all three with one shot instead of juggling a bubble level with one hand and screwing down props with the other.I've spent enough time building and feeling more confident made sure I wasn't wrong. For the bottom shelf I just mounted it on some blocks of wood. For the middle one I used a standard tripod with a 1/4" base plate, which fits perfectly. For the top, I screwed a piece of wood directly over the door frame to act as a temporary shelf. I see using the included clips for future projects.
