I've just ordered my third salt shaker. This is a very good product, stylish and useful. However, the design is such that people unfamiliar with it won't see the knob at the top and try to turn it like you do with many salt and pepper grinders. It takes more than a little torque to break it, but it will break. I order these substitutes because we are familiar with them and like to use them with meals. Now we use others when we have guests.
