Review on ACDelco Rear Air Lift Shock Absorber Kit - GM Original Equipment 504-119 by Jeremy Edwards

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very easy installation! Not as bad as you think!

Bought after reading the previous review and agree, the manual is useless. This is not actually a manual, just a list of parts. This is GENERAL for ACDELCO. They don't include them because they are for professionals (mechanics) and they need to know how to install them. They give a list of attachments and it says where to place the air valve, my app (Olds Silhouette 2001) says to place it on the side but the factory shock placed it on the back of the car. Position the valve in the same place as your old shock absorber. The shock absorbers are not the same adapters as the OEM. The scope of delivery includes threaded connections that are screwed onto the shock absorbers. But it's really not difficult to use. What you do is use a razor blade (should be very sharp) to carefully cut away the old airlines. Cut off about 3 inches, then use new lines and fittings and attach them to the shocks. There is no need to run full lines from the pump to the shocks as adapters would not suffice as the pump is also a quick connect. A little tip: Be sure to mount 2 O-rings on the new air line and also "spit" something. helps new o-rings slide into ports with ease. Total time with my daughter helps 40 minutes. If there was an OEM quick connector in the shock kit I would give that 5 stars. See attached photos.
