Review on 🧢 JubileeYarn Bamboo Chunky Weight Poodle Black - Thick and Thin Yarn - 2 Skeins by Denise Davis

Interesting yarn - and felt!

The knitting was a bit amazing - the thick and fine yarns are so even (unlike handspun yarn) that the hat I made had these regular scalloped edges on the crown and brim. If it were hand-dyed yarn, we would call this effect "pairing". I don't know if there is such a term for the combination of thick and thin eyelashes. I used dark green colored lashes around the edges that looked great with combs. But I was hoping I could block the bulges of the crown. The friend I made this for loved the oddity of the bump/scallop. I then gently hand washed it in cold water and threw it in the dryer for 20 minutes as it stretches a lot when wet. Surprisingly, however, it turned out strong in 20 minutes in the dryer! I mean, shouldn't that be too much bamboo wool for the felt? I do not think so. (Why do the things I try to felt require hours of hard work?) I've stretched/pulled what you do with felted fabrics and have been able to stretch them to a comfortable size. After I blocked it, it was really nice. I mean beautiful. A completely different hat is a strong and bold dotnitsa with a scalloped fluffy brim instead of a cap. The beats on the crown have been muted and the texture is really interesting and beautiful. My friend was delighted. Overall it worked great. Looks really fabulous felted. And before lockdown, things were looking pretty good. It was just an unexpected and delightful intuition.
