This is much better than peering through a normal microscope. Me and the kids have a lot of fun with it and it's easy to use. No panes of glass. Just super easy! As my video shows, you need to connect the base for two flexible lights to work. Use your finger to move the slider lighter or darker. But these lights aren't really needed to be used from what I've seen. Make sure the monitor shaft is fully down before attaching it, otherwise you will not be able to rotate the focusing part. Use the side wheels to get closer or further away. The focus part allows for many options, allowing you to view almost anything that fits on the platform. The photos on Amazon make it really great. As you can see in my video, it's not big at all. It's about 12 inches high and about 10 inches wide. Doesn't take up much storage space.
