Easy to assemble, very convenient, easy to use. I looked at many options for this type of device. I'm visually impaired and can't afford the more expensive options that cost thousands of dollars. I can connect this little gem to a monitor or TV via HDMI to zoom in. I love working with electronics so I can still do it with this. Thank god for the technology.

I used to spend money on cheap digital microscope options and was disappointed with the results. Yes, it's a bit more expensive, but it's worth it. I'm interested in electronics, but this addition to my kit will quickly pay for itself. The ability to record videos, play back etc. is a feature I already use. I like this device :)

I use it to test and rate live coral on tiger lilies. Aquaculture animals can often be difficult due to the parasites and nasty algae that can live on them. This is much better than peering through a normal microscope. Me and the kids have a lot of fun with it and it's easy to use. No panes of glass. Just super easy! As my video shows, you need to connect the base for two flexible lights to work. Use your finger to move the slider lighter or darker. I have a microscope calibration ruler with divisions every 0.005 inch. I took a photo and cropped it to show the three lines on the ruler. On a 7-inch screen, the lines were about 0.260 inches apart. 0.260 / 0.005 = 52 so I would say the optical magnification is about 52x. Of course, if you connect a big screen HDMI monitor, you could qualify for a higher number. There's a 16x digital zoom capability, so the combination is 832x. The description says you can catch a whole silver dollar. IS NOT IT! With the microscope properly set up, you can only capture "most" of the nickel. You can almost get a silver dollar holding the microscope by the lens cover, but this is a very unreliable and unstable mount and eventually the cover will break. You need to do this with a much longer mounting base.
