Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Performance Kit: Power Stop K2406 Front Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drill & Slot Brake Rotors by John Bones

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The rotors and pads are fine, but the rest of the details.

Well I have used Power Stop in the past and found the quality to be good. This time I got a kit for a 2006 Lexus !S250. As before, the rotors looked fantastic and the pads were of high quality. I was also pleased that they included new pad clips as well as replacement rubber boots for the caliper guide pins. I read another review that mentioned their clamps didn't fit, but they looked the same so I decided to try them. However, something went wrong during the installation. The shiny metal clips just didn't fit well (like the other reviewers) and I ended up going with the old ones, which (of course) fit perfectly but looked like crap. I then attempted to swap out the rubber boots, which was a complete disaster. They just didn't fit - not even when I tried to clamp the caliper frame in a vise and pound it with a hammer. I couldn't paste them in any way - I resorted to reusing the old ones again. What really pissed me off about all of this was that I had just meticulously cleaned, cleaned and painted the calipers. The paint was so damaged from trying to fit the wrong parts that I had to redo it. I still give the kit 3 stars because the main components seem great. Why Power Stop can't guarantee that the $5 clips and shoes will fit their $200 rotor and pad set well is beyond me, but if they don't bother to ask and answer those parts , they shouldn't even include them. It would have saved me a lot of frustration, multiple choice curses, and a few hours of extra work.
