At least on the fourth size, the yarn didn't adhere well to the seams and I was struggling with the stitches at this point. This slowed me down a lot and scared me that the thread would break and scratch the joint. I switched to a solid circle because knitting is supposed to be relaxing. Also, I couldn't securely attach the lugs to the cable, I couldn't look inside the lugs to see what went where. And it took more arm strength than I could handle. My husband was able to join them. A couple of times I found a tip to fall off completely and the stitching to slip off the cable. I think this set fits larger needle sizes and will probably work better after they break in. No miracle solution. Later: Using size 9 lace to make a sweater. The hinges are no more cumbersome than other interchangeable parts, and what a relief that the tabs never come loose. I will be careful with size 4 tips in the future, but these needles are great for larger sizes.
