Basically a great monitor and a great price

There are many good points in this monitor, and at a price you won't find anywhere else (especially if you buy it at one of the very common discounts). Key features: 4K, USB-C connection with one cable, really loud speakers, fully functional stand and USB hub. I'm an IT guy). I connected it to a 14" and 16" MacBook Pro M1 via USB-C. The screen is beautiful and side by side I can hardly tell the Liquid Retina XDR display from the MacBook and Samsung. After playing around with the settings on the monitor, I turned off ECO mode and set the refresh rate to high (60Hz). Some have reported USB ports slowing down at high refresh rates on USB 2.0, but that hasn't happened to me. On a 60Hz MacBook Pro M1, the USB ports on the monitor report USB 3.0 5Gb/s on the Mac, according to the system report. On a Windows PC (XPS 13), 60Hz over USB-C slows down USB ports to USB 2.0. I'm not sure why Mac and Windows work differently in this regard. With USB-C, both MacBooks charge easily through the monitor. One issue I've had with both MacBooks is that the monitor wakes up every few minutes after the MacBook and screen have gone to sleep. I had to either unplug the monitor or turn it off manually using the button under the monitor. By the way, Samsung's multi-button system UNDER the monitor is annoying, but you get used to it. Speaker. The best speakers I've ever heard in a monitor. Most of them are so small that they are useless, but not this Samsung. Nice and loud. One problem is that I can't control the monitor's speaker volume from my Mac. The volume control is inactive. I guess it's some kind of crap. As others have said, turn off ECO mode if it's on immediately to increase brightness. As I said, the colors are fantastic. Overall I'm very happy with this monitor, especially at <$300 (if you can get a discounted pair, do it!). You won't find all of these features in a monitor at this price point anywhere else.
