Review on HydraPak Flux Collapsible Water Bottle For Backpacking (1 Liter) - BPA-Free, Lightweight, Twist-Off Cap - Malibu Blue by Nick Walsh

Narrow use case in my review

This is well made, but I don't think I'd recommend it unless space was really an issue. The bottle works well but it doesn't have a "air return" function - meaning when you drink it, the overall shape of the bottle gets smaller, it doesn't fill back up with air. Not that I was really expecting it to, but it was startlingly unstable once you've drank more than about a quarter of it - meaning it can't "sit up" on a counter. To be fair, this is meant to be compact and storable for a camping/backpacking/whatever trip. I knew that going in, but I don't think I realized how much you can't really use this for anything else. Good for a narrow use case, but think about it a little bit harder if you are thinking you'll use this broadly.

Pros
  • The BPA-free construction ensures that your water remains clean and safe to drink
Cons
  • The collapsible design may make it difficult to put in a cup holder
