{EDIT] After a season I kept smelling of fuel. Then the engine cut out and I couldn't tell what was going on The time came. I found that the o-ring that seals the black cap to the frame is no longer sealing. Has it shrunk? I don't know. But I found this when trying to remove the filter from the top brass To fill the filler neck ", fuel immediately leaked through the threads of the black top. Since that wasn't the only problem I had, I'll take it off. It just broke off, I drilled holes in the fiberglass to install it -10K (Tohatsu) marked Unicas I originally received 2 identical OUTLET nipples that were supposed to be different for INLET and OUTLET The seller was great at communication and gave me those correct nipple (and see detailed drawing, 2 different and correct nipples are now displayed). I haven't installed it on my boat yet, hence only 4 stars for now. But I'll update it after install and see how well it works (5 stars I suspect). The overall size of the filter is good: 4 inches wide and 10 inches high. There are no IN and OUT marks on the main unit and no installation or user manual. Find out that it doesn't matter which side you connect the IN or OUT fitting. The fitting determines which side is IN and which is OUT as they run (cross hole for IN or OUT for a straight through hole fitting). Attached are 2 photos, the ones with the green o-rings are the ones I received. The others wrapped in plastic are real UF-10K fittings, the INPUT is cross drilled and the OUTPUT is not straight through. I could remove the top cap and see the filter and flow direction (the cap was very tight). The inlet fitting/nipple has a cross hole and the fuel falls into the water separation bowl and is poured into the top bowl where the filter is then turned on (hence the need for a brass top vent). ). Then when the fuel flows through the filter to its center and enters the straight outlet port and exits to the engine. (Update) Just installed, worked great. I did a test run and found no fuel economy issues. FYI - after installation to fill it completely: 1. Use a vise or squeeze and squeeze the INLET hose (this will prevent fuel from flowing back into the tank when you open the vent)2. Open the top vent and fill with fuel to the brim, close the vent. 3. Loosen the clamp and test run the engine.
