PLEASE NOTE I have purchased the GOLD version of the NuWave PIC Induction Hob. This model is the same physical size as other NuWave cooktops but has a larger 8-inch induction surface. I first bought a NuWave PIC Plus device at a department store. The smaller 5 inch induction zone worked great with the included small frying pan. However, the Calphalon 12 inch 3-layer pan (suitable for induction according to Calphalon) did not deliver any usable results. It also turned out that the NuWave Plus model's thermostat was not working properly. The NuWave Gold model works well with pots as small as 7 inches. up to 12 inches. Spend the extra money and buy either Gold or Pro. (Pro has a higher power rating and heats water faster than Plus or Gold).
