There are many cable ties for different purposes. I appreciate that some are white and some are black, making them less or more obvious to use depending on your preference. I use them to secure oversized cables, cords and wires and as reusable cable management. By attaching the longer extension cords, which were looped in a large loop along the banister in the garage, I can run the unit's extension cord to the freezer, which is inconvenient for an outlet, and safely tuck the cord out of the way. I do the same with my very long road extension, which I plan to use occasionally in the garage (and not trip over) but also pull outside for power tools. I don't want the cable permanently fixed in the garage and these loop ties allow the cable to be threaded through or removed if needed. I also use loops in other places to secure things that can be hung from. Just this Labor Day weekend, my grandkids and friends came camping out in the field. I wanted to hang a lantern on the gate so someone who needs to come in at night can easily spot the gate. The problem was that although the lantern had a hook, the hook wasn't big enough to fit over the fence board. I threw a noose around the board and hung a lantern hook from it. Works well and can be reused in the future if needed. Another use I really enjoy is attaching items to my garden tractor to take with me while mowing. I make big loops with long ribbons through a couple of cooling slots on the case and put tool handles through them. A couple of loops on the rollator allow me to hang things from it if needed. The same applies to the headrest in the car. Because there are so many ties in this set, I can attach something semi-permanently, then cut the tie to loosen it and use another if the need arises again. If I have separated a set of measuring cups or spoons and want to put them together, or maybe just a few of them, that's fine too. I also use them in the garden to support tomato cages and other supports that get stressed when the plants grow tall and heavy. The strings that come with the bug traps won't last an hour if the bag is blown in the wind. One of these ties does the job a lot better. Once you get used to them, you'll see that they can become more and more useful.
