Review on Thomas Bates Hiker Belt Black by Sean Carter

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Not at all like before. How sad.

I bought four of these belts in 2014. The material was military strong, the buckles are very secure, and even with my bulging waist, they did their job. I broke my khaki buckle through my own fault and ordered a replacement two weeks ago. OMG what a difference of three years. If you take one of my original straps and try to fold it edge to edge you will find a lot of resistance. New? Rolled up like a Christmas ribbon! The new one isn't even half thinner than the original, it's much darker than the original khaki, and it's lost battles and wars on my waist. Might be made in America like the originals, but this one just isn't worth the money. A lesson for Thomas Bates: NEVER sacrifice quality for price when it comes to this type of clothing. I'm sending it back and I won't buy it again, that's for sure. Damn shame. Oh, and as many others have pointed out, do not buy this if your waist is over 40 inches. At this size there is no room for adjustment.
