This is a custom suspension part to replace a worn or damaged Miata upper ball link arm. The OEM design is a press-fit ball joint that the OEM provides for the ball boot service only. The ball joint in the stamped steel hole in the control arm has often come loose. This special ball joint only replacement part features a special locking ring groove and included helical locking ring that prevents the newly installed ball from moving up from the depressed position. For those of us who drive these cars and use special upper arm offset bushings this is a real benefit as the hassle and expense of replacing and removing those offset bushings can be avoided and the new ball joint is a high quality, engineered part.
